The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts revealed on Thursday that its ministerial department is paying special attention to developing thalassotherapy activity at the coastal states level.
In a public session in the National People’s Assembly devoted to asking oral questions to a number of government members, the Ministry of Tourism Madahi confirmed that the Ministry “pays special attention to developing thalassotherapy activity, as privileges have been granted to thalassotherapy centers at the level of coastal states.”
Regarding the strategy for developing medical tourism with mineral waters, Madahi indicated that “an action program has been prepared that gives priority to the national market with the aim of supporting the growth of domestic tourism and developing national expertise and competencies,” noting “strengthening the national health base with new projects in the states of Algeria, Oran, Souk Ahras, Biskra and Mila.”
On the other hand, and in the context of the national strategy for digital transformation approved by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for all sectors, the Minister indicated that “many processes have been implemented, especially facilitating administrative procedures through electronic portals.”
She added that “tourist itineraries have been digitized and the use of electronic payment has been generalized to the level of hotel establishments and travel agencies.” A platform dedicated to digital service for craftsmen and monitoring the management of traditional industry activities has also been launched.
In response to a question about the efforts made to develop tourism in the state of Mania, Madahi stated that “it is considered a tourism state par excellence thanks to its great qualifications,” stressing the “preparation of an integrated strategy for this purpose based on valuing natural, cultural and exploratory tourism while developing paths in these areas.”
She added that “Munaia Province has been included in the electronic portal for Algerian tourist itineraries, as an embodiment of the government’s action plan in its aspect related to digital transformation.”
