The Ministry of Religious Affairs commemorates International Women’s Day – New Algeria

Today, Monday, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments commemorated International Women’s Day, where the Minister supervised, Youssef Belmehdi at the Imam House in Muhammadiyah, Algiers, for this event organized under the slogan “Algerian women… a sublime message and a renewed role.”

The Ministry’s central administration staff and religious guides, along with female sector employees in the central administration and its affiliated institutions at the level of Algiers, participated in the occasion, and a number of female sector employees and a representative of the media sector were honored in appreciation of their professional efforts.

In a statement to the media, the Minister confirmed that the celebration ofInternational Women’s Day It constitutes an occasion to recall the status of women in society and highlight their contributions to building the nation, noting that Algerian women have played prominent roles throughout various historical stages in education and community work, as well as in the process of the national struggle.

The Minister noted the role of women in strengthening family cohesion and consolidating values ​​within society, recalling examples from national history, including the struggle against Lalla Fatima N’Soumer, in addition to what Algerian female activists provided during the liberation revolution – according to what was stated in a statement by the Ministry of Religious Affairs -.

The Minister pointed out that Algerian women today have broader opportunities to participate in various fields, as they have become present in several sectors and have occupied advanced positions in state institutions, stressing that the Religious Affairs and Endowments Sector is working to support this presence through the training of female religious guides, teachers of the Holy Quran, and participants in the Hajj delegation.
