The Ministry of Health is committed to continuing efforts to make vaccination campaigns successful

The Ministry of Health renewed its commitment to continuing efforts, in coordination with various partners, to make national vaccination campaigns a success, and to consolidate public health gains, in the service of children’s health and society.

The Ministry of Health statement stated that, within the framework of following up and implementing the national strategy to eradicate polio, the Ministry, represented by the General Directorate of Prevention and Health Promotion, organized, on Sunday, for two days, in Algiers, the evaluation days of the national polio vaccination campaign in its first phase, with the participation of the central frameworks as well as representatives of the participating ministerial sectors and international partners, along with a number of technical supervisors at the level of the health and population directorates of the states.

These evaluation days aim to analyze the results of the first phase of the campaign, study the recorded administrative and technical data, in addition to presenting the results of the mandates and independent evaluations, in order to identify the strengths and identify the challenges recorded in the field, in a way that ensures improving the quality of interventions during the coming stages.

These works include technical working sessions, especially with the expanded vaccination programme, devoted to discussing mechanisms for enhancing vaccination coverage and improving planning, coordination and community communication, with a focus on reaching all target groups, especially in private areas.

These evaluation days conclude with the preparation of synthetic reports and the formulation of a set of practical recommendations, which will enhance the performance of the campaign in its subsequent stages, and ensure the achievement of the set goals, which are protecting children from the threat of polio and strengthening national health security.
