The Ministry of Education opens the door to retirement before the legal age for its employees who meet the conditions – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Saturday, the Ministry of National Education announced the opening of applications to benefit from a retirement pension before reaching the legal age, for the benefit of employees who meet the conditions specified by law, and who reach the age of 57 years for men and 52 years for women, until August 31, 2026.

The Ministry explained, in a statement, that this measure comes in implementation of the provisions of Law No. 25-09 of July 19, 2025, supplementing Law No. 83-12 of July 2, 1983 relating to retirement, amended and supplemented, as well as the provisions of Executive Decree No. 26-74 of January 14, 2026, which specifies the conditions and modalities for employees belonging to some branches of the national education sector to benefit from pre-age retirement. Legal.

In the context of optimal care for the sector employees concerned with these new legal texts, the Ministry of National Education decided, as an exception, to open the door for submitting advance retirement applications for the benefit of employees who meet the specific legal conditions.

The statement indicated that the period for filing files extends from February 8 until March 15, 2026, which is the last date for receiving applications, stressing that no file submitted after this date will be accepted.
