Algeria seeks to strengthen the legal and social protection system for fragile groups, especially children, by taking a number of legislative, organizational and awareness measures, in order to reach a comprehensive and effective vision to take care of them.

On Sunday, Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, Surgi Moulouji, chaired an expanded coordination meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters, devoted to discussing a number of topics and axes as well as the files listed within the agenda, in the presence of the central administration frameworks.

The meeting started with a presentation on the ongoing preparations for social and school entry 2025-2026, where the importance of ensuring the readiness of all mechanisms and programs directed to accompany the groups benefiting from the sector’s programs, especially those present in the interior and rural areas, to ensure equal opportunities for the children of needy families and ensure their schooling in the best conditions.

The Minister stressed the need to coordinate with the various sectors concerned in order to provide all the necessary material and pedagogical conditions before the date of school entry.

In the part related to the follow -up of the registered investment projects entitled in the year 2025, a detailed report was presented on the registered progress rates, while identifying the recorded difficulties in the field and determining the solutions to raise them, allowing respect for the prescribed deadlines and accelerating the pace of completion, according to what is required by the rules of good governance and good implementation.

The meeting also dealt with the interim evaluation of the sector’s work plan, where the indicators recorded since the beginning of the year were presented, and compared to the ruler goals, while highlighting the positive points and identifying areas that require more support and development, in the context of embodying the sector’s obligations within the government’s action plan.

The meeting touched on a preliminary presentation of the proposals prepared by the joint sectoral committees on the mechanisms of confronting the assault on children, which included a number of legislative, regulatory and awareness measures, aimed at strengthening the legal and social protection system for this category.

Moulouji called for enriching these proposals by expanding consultations with all actors and partners and including their contributions, in order to reach a comprehensive and effective vision to ensure this sensitive problem.

This meeting comes within the framework of the keenness of the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, to follow the accurate and field follow -up of all files related to its tasks, and to perpetuate the principle of participatory work between the various bodies, in an embodiment of the directives of the President of the Republic, to serve the citizen and enhance the cohesion of the national social fabric.
