The Minister of the Interior stresses ensuring the availability of foodstuffs for widespread consumption – New Algeria

The Minister of the Interior, Local Governments and Transport, Al-Saeed Saeed, stressed on Sunday the necessity of ensuring the abundance of foodstuffs, especially those for widespread consumption, and intensifying control over markets during the holy month.

This came while he chaired a coordination meeting via video lecture technology with the governors, in the presence of department heads and executive branch directors.

The agenda of this meeting revolved around the preparations and conduct of the holy month of Ramadan, and following up on the status of consumption of financial appropriations for the year 2025 (the program to support the social and economic development of municipalities and the allocations from the Guarantee and Solidarity Fund among local groups).

The meeting also included a presentation on the financial appropriations for the year 2026 (the program to support the social and economic development of municipalities and the allocations to the Guarantee and Solidarity Fund among local groups).

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister stressed ensuring the abundance of foodstuffs, especially those for widespread consumption, intensifying supervision of markets, and noting the importance of the involvement of the vigilance cells set up at the state level by recording any deficiencies and reporting them in a timely manner.

The same official also called for the necessity of ensuring the availability of transportation at all times, especially at night, with exceptional licenses being granted when necessary.
