The Minister of Labor stresses protecting the rights of citizens and improving the quality of public service – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Abdul Haq Sayhi, stressed the necessity of devoting permanent field work and strict vigilance in order to protect the rights of users and enhance the quality of public service, within the framework of continuous monitoring of the performance of public facilities affiliated with the sector.

In this context, the Minister chaired, yesterday, Tuesday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, a coordination meeting that included the frameworks of the central administration, devoted to assessing the extent of implementation of the directives issued, and determining the reality of public service and the level of handling citizens’ concerns.

During the meeting, the Minister listened to detailed presentations on the progress of work at the level of bodies and institutions under guardianship, and the rate of progress achieved in implementing programs to improve public service, especially those related to digitization, simplifying administrative procedures, and reducing burdens on citizens.

Following the discussions, the Minister issued a set of strict instructions, in which he stressed the necessity of organizing regular field outings according to a precise and specific work program, while ensuring constant vigilance to monitor the performance of facilities and confront any transgression that would affect the rights of citizens. He also stressed the strict and effective implementation of instructions to improve public service, with a focus on quality performance and achieving tangible results on the ground.

The Minister called for immediate attention to citizens’ concerns and to address them within reasonable deadlines, stressing the strict prohibition on citizens asking for documents that can be exchanged between the relevant bodies remotely, and stressing that immediate and deterrent measures will be taken against any negligence or transgression that harms the interest of the citizen or the quality of public service.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security reiterated his emphasis that follow-up and evaluation will be field-based and permanent, stressing that improving public service and enhancing the social dimension of the state represent a top priority, and that the Ministry will not tolerate any practices that would undermine citizen confidence or obstruct the proper functioning of public facilities.
