The Minister of Justice comes to Al-Qalaia to honor the guests of the memorizers of the Qur’an on Laylat Al-Qadr – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Lotfi Boudjemaa, accompanied by the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youssef Belmehdi, will supervise the celebration of the Blessed Night of Destiny at the Re-Education and Rehabilitation Foundation in Qalaia, at the end of the religious activities held during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry of Justice statement confirmed that the ceremony witnesses the honoring of the inmates who won in the various branches of the sixteenth edition of the national competition for memorizing and reciting the Holy Qur’an, designated for detainees, and which was organized in coordination with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments. It is noteworthy that the two ministers supervised the launch of the competition on Thursday, February 19, 2026, via remote video lecture technology.

The source indicated that the preliminary qualifiers for the competition took place at the level of all penal institutions, where local arbitration committees appointed from the state directorates of religious affairs and endowments selected the best participants, while the central committee evaluated the final qualifiers.

It should be noted that the activities of the month of Ramadan in penal institutions included religious activities and competitions for memorizing the Prophetic hadiths (the Forty Nawawi), in addition to various cultural competitions, which included lectures and seminars led by imams and religious guides throughout the holy month.
