The Minister of Irrigation calls for accelerating the completion of sector projects and enhancing digitalization in the management of water resources – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Sunday, the Minister of Irrigation, Taha Darbal, called for the necessity of respecting contractual deadlines in completing the sector’s projects, while strictly adhering to the approved technical standards to ensure the quality and sustainability of the facilities.

The Minister explained, during a working visit and inspection of his leaders to the state of Chlef, that the irrigation sector continues to accompany local development efforts through various programs and projects, noting the importance of expanding the use of digitalization in the management of water resources, which contributes to improving control over water distribution and improving the quality of public service provided to citizens.

Darbal also stressed the importance of maintaining and valuing irrigation facilities on a regular basis, while equipping them with the necessary means to increase the productivity of networks and facilities, stressing at the same time the necessity of adopting forward-looking mechanisms and developing alternative plans to confront the challenges associated with the management of water resources.

In a related context, the Minister called for enhancing the exploitation of filtered wastewater as an additional source of water resources, in addition to intensifying efforts to combat illegal connections and random connections to water networks, due to the negative effects they cause on ensuring the equitable distribution of this vital material.
