The Minister of Education before Parliament: Huge investments to enhance the quality of education in Algeria – Al-Hiwar Algerian newspaper

Today, Monday, the Minister of National Education, Mohamed Saghir Saadawi, reviewed before the Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs Committee of the National People’s Assembly the reality of the education sector and its future work program, which is based on improving the quality of education in its pedagogical, administrative and investment dimensions, and ensuring equal opportunities for all students, according to a statement by the Ministry of Relations with Parliament.
The Minister pointed out the continuous increase in the number of students, which necessitated the creation of new financial positions and the strengthening of educational supervision.
In addition to establishing additional educational institutions according to an accurate school map to ensure a balanced distribution of resources.
As of December 31, 2025, the national pool of educational institutions reached 30,308 educational institutions.
An increase of 607 institutions during the current season, while the number of professors reached 630,641 educational supervision employees.
Saadawi stressed that the sector has begun establishing new institutions to relieve pressure and improve learning conditions.

The Minister stressed on enhancing school life and encouraging innovation, through developing school sports, scientific and cultural activities,
And organizing national competitions, such as the National School Innovation Competition and the National Inter-Secondary Competition, to hone students’ skills and develop their talents.
At the conclusion of his presentation, Saadawi revealed the increase in investments directed to the sector.
The financial cover for the implementation of educational institutions moved from 67 billion dinars in the 2025 Finance Law to 150 billion dinars in the 2026 Finance Law.
This reflects the strong will of the state to support the Algerian school and develop the quality of education.
