The Minister of Communication supervises a training course for media professionals to promote children’s rights – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Sunday, the Minister of Communication, Dr. Zouhair Bouamama, accompanied by the National Commissioner for the Protection of Child Rights, Meriem Charafi, supervised the opening of a training course for the network of Algerian media professionals to promote children’s rights, stressing the Ministry’s support for this initiative.

This session, bearing the slogan: “Children and the challenges of new media”In coordination with UNICEF – Algeria Office, within the framework of strengthening the capabilities of media professionals and enabling them to keep pace with accelerating digital transformations.

The Minister of Communication stressed the importance of developing journalists’ skills in addressing childhood issues, noting that specialized training is an essential foundation for improving media performance and serving national issues more effectively.

He also stressed the specificity of media content directed to children, which should be based on educational awareness and the consolidation of values, which helps to confront the challenges posed by some negative media content.

The Minister reiterated his emphasis on the Ministry of Communication’s support for the network of Algerian media professionals to promote children’s rights, calling for the expansion of training programs to contribute to building a responsible media system that puts the interests of the child at the heart of its priorities.
