
The Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Cheikh GhazwaniFor his sincere thanks and gratitude to Algeria for its accompanying and support for the organ transplant program in his country.
Al -Ghazwani’s comments came during a visit to the National Center for Cardiology in Nouakchott, during which two patients who were carried out were visited by successful kidney transplants during the last weekend, according to a statement of the Mauritanian presidency.
The Mauritanian President considered the success of these operations “a national achievement that carries noble human and moral dimensions, and comes within the framework of the program to localize the kidney transplant operations that are carried out in cooperation with the sisterly state of Algeria.”
Al -Ghazwani congratulated Medical teams Mauritanian and Algerian, which have accomplished these operations, stressing that the health sector will remain an essential axis and a maximum priority for the work of the Mauritanian government.
Algeria and Mauritania signed at the beginning of the year 2024 a cooperation agreement in the field of human organ transplantation, which includes the formation of medical crews in the field of organ transplantation, cells and tissues, organizing workshops, seminars, joint scientific conferences, and organizing training courses for health professionals from both countries, in addition to exchanging visits between experts and specialists in the two countries.
