
The Minister of Health, Abdel Haq Sayyahi, announced on Sunday the launch of a comprehensive national feeding scheme next September, aimed at protecting citizen health from food and chemical risks that affect food, which can occur at all stages of the food chain from the product to the consumer.
This came, during his supervision at the Ministry’s headquarters on the work of today’s topics on the measures taken to ensure a healthy and safe summer season with the participation of experts and specialists in the field.
During his speech on this occasion, the minister was keen to confirm that this plan constitutes an effective tool to reduce improper nutrition and food poisoning that can be recorded especially during the summer season in light of the widespread spread of manufactured or half -manufactured materials and fast food, calling for the necessity of adopting balanced food behavior that protects and preserves the health of the citizen.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Health aimed at the same plan – which is based on prevention, control, awareness and multi -sectors coordination – to bring about the desired change in the food pattern by working to ensure food safety, which is an integral part of food security, by protecting food from risks of biological and chemical origin, which can occur in all stages of the food chain from the product to the consumer, in addition to working on Reducing the consumption of sugars, fats and salt, according to the standards determined by the National Nutrition Plan.
During his speech, the minister stressed the need to intensify surveillance and inspection at all levels within the framework of multi -sectors coordination work while working to launch awareness campaigns, focusing on the prevention of summer diseases and health behaviors to be adopted, in order to avoid food poisoning cases that can be recorded, especially during the summer season.
