The International Atomic Energy Agency calls for the resumption of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue

The Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, called for the resumption of talks in order to reach a long-term solution to the Iranian nuclear program, stressing the importance of returning to the diplomatic track to avoid further escalation. Recent reports indicate that Grossi has already expressed his hope for the resumption of the negotiating process regarding the Iranian nuclear file, while stressing that the agency has an essential role in any future settlement.

Grossi added that international efforts must be directed towards a new nuclear agreement between the United States and Iran, in light of the faltering rounds of negotiations in Geneva despite talk of achieving “tangible progress” without reaching a final agreement.
