The Hungarian Embassy in Algeria organizes a press conference to strengthen economic and cultural relations

The Embassy of Hungary in Algeria organized a press meeting with representatives of the national media, under the supervision of Ambassador Gabor Leventi, which focused on a number of issues and areas of common interest between Algeria and Hungary.

Ambassador Gabor Leventi praised the quality of bilateral relations that go back decades, since the period of Algerian independence, expressing his satisfaction with the investment opportunities existing in the country, and noting his admiration for the Gara Jbeilat mine project and the railway line linking the states of Tindouf and Bechar, extending over a distance of 950 kilometers, which was completed in a short period of time, which he described as record.

During the meeting, the Ambassador touched on a presentation by the First Secretary in charge of economic and commercial affairs at the embassy, ​​Ariadne Abeji Komal Vandelik, about the possibilities of establishing an economic partnership to enhance trade exchanges between the two countries, especially in the fields of agriculture, cattle and red meat breeding, food industries, thermal therapeutic tourism, water and waste management, construction, the pharmaceutical and health industry, railway development, the automobile industry and renewable energies.

The ambassador also highlighted the importance of resuming direct flights between Algiers and Budapest, starting next April 1, after a hiatus that lasted for years, stressing that it will contribute to enhancing tourism and commercial exchanges, and improving the mobility of travelers, businessmen, and students, in a way that serves the interests of both parties.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the ambassador announced the organization of a Hungarian week entitled “Hungarian Com,” from the sixth to the thirteenth of next May, as an opportunity to enhance cultural rapprochement and become more familiar with Hungarian culture and products in Algeria.
