The Hadhramaut Tribes Alliance announces its control over sites of the Transitional Council in Mukalla – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Tribal forces loyal to the Yemeni government in Hadramaut Governorate, east of the country, announced today, Saturday, their control of military sites and areas belonging to the Southern Transitional Council in Mukalla, while sources reported that the National Shield Forces advanced towards the city after taking control of Sayun.

The “Hadhramaut Protection Forces,” affiliated with the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance, said in a statement that they had taken control of a number of military sites in Mukalla as part of the “receiving the camps” process, without specifying those sites, while there was no statement from the STC regarding this development.

Prior to that, the forces issued warnings of “imminent operations” in the city, calling on citizens to leave the vicinity of Al-Rayyan Airport immediately, stay away from the Republican Palace, and evacuate the sites of the Parsheed Brigade and Al-Hamra Camp on the coast of Hadhramaut, according to what Anadolu Agency reported from local sources.

The forces also called on residents to stay away from any sites where members of the Southern Transitional Council are present, and to stop any looting operations in order to preserve the safety of civilians and public and private property, according to what was reported by Anatolia Agency.

This comes after Salem Al-Khanbashi, Governor of Hadramaut and Commander of the National Shield Forces, announced today, Saturday, the security of the camps in the Al-Wadi and Desert districts, after reclaiming the region from the control of the Southern Transitional Council forces.

Al-Khanbashi added that the National Shield Forces began their movement towards the coast to establish security and protect sovereign facilities, saying, “Hadhramaut today is moving at a steady pace towards a safe and stable future.” – Anatolia –
