The government regulates private sector schools and accelerates the digitization of Hajj – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib chaired a government meeting devoted to the files of education, Hajj and vocational training, in addition to following up on the progress of structured projects, most notably the expansion of the port of Annaba.

A new book of conditions for private schools

At the beginning of the session, the government studied a draft executive decree specifying the conditions and procedures for accrediting, operating, and monitoring private education institutions, in a step aimed at correcting the imbalances recorded in the field.

The project includes a new terms and conditions book that regulates the administrative, technical, and pedagogical obligations imposed on private schools, subjecting their accreditation to the requirements of the school map, and obliging them to provide education consistent with national programs and curricula and respecting national constants.

Advanced arrangements for the Hajj season 1447 AH

The government listened to a presentation on the preparations for the Hajj season 1447 AH/2026 AD, which included a presentation of the most prominent operations completed to simplify procedures for the benefit of pilgrims.

Preparations included concluding contracts for housing and subsistence services, transportation of pilgrims and luggage, and health supervision, in addition to digitizing various operations through the Algerian Hajj portal, and adopting electronic payment for Hajj costs, with an emphasis on coordination between various sectors to ensure a tight organization that reflects an honorable image of Algeria.

Modernization of vocational training 2026-2028

The government also studied the 2026-2028 road paper for the vocational training and education sector, which includes a comprehensive reform aimed at improving the quality of training, raising the employability of graduates, and diversifying offers in line with the needs of the labor market.

Annaba port expansion works are progressing

In the context of following up on major projects, the government listened to a presentation on the progress of expansion works on the port of Annaba, which is included in the completion of the integrated phosphate project, as a logistical pillar to support exports and enhance economic activity.
