The government is studying a plan to reform the educational system in the vocational sector

During its meeting, the government studied many points, most notably the conditions and procedures for accrediting, operating and monitoring private education institutions, in addition to the strategic plan for a comprehensive reform of the educational system in the vocational training sector.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib chaired a government meeting devoted to studying points, including a draft executive decree setting the conditions and procedures for accrediting, operating, and monitoring private education institutions.

This project comes within the framework of correcting the imbalances and shortcomings that were observed in the field, as it includes a new book of conditions that defines the administrative, technical and pedagogical obligations required of private schools. The accreditation of private education institutions will be subject to the requirements of the school map, and these institutions are also obligated to provide education consistent with national programs and curricula and respect national constants.

On another level, the government listened to a presentation on the progress of preparations for the Hajj season for the year 1447 AH/2026 AD, which included the most important organizational stations and completed operations aimed at simplifying and easing Hajj procedures for our pilgrims.

For this purpose, contracts were concluded related to housing and subsistence services, transportation of pilgrims and luggage, and health supervision for the benefit of pilgrims, in addition to the digitization of organizational processes through the Algerian Hajj portal, and the inclusion of electronic payment for Hajj costs. The importance of permanent coordination between the sectors, institutions and bodies concerned with organizing the Hajj process was also stressed in order to enhance the honorable image of the country during this season.

The government also studied the 2026-2028 road paper for the vocational training and education sector, in anticipation of modernizing this sector in a way that makes it a real engine for economic development. This strategic plan includes a comprehensive reform of the educational system, with the aim of enhancing employment opportunities for graduates, improving the quality of education, and diversifying training offers with the aim of fully responding to the needs of the labor market.

As part of the follow-up of major structured projects, the government listened to clarifications on the progress of the Annaba port expansion work, which is included in the framework of the completion of the large integrated phosphate project.
