The Director of the International Monetary Fund praises Algeria’s dynamism and economic stability – New Algeria

The Director General of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, praised, on Thursday, the great progress achieved by Algeria in the field of macroeconomic stability and development, as well as the low inflation rate, which reflects positively on the economy.

In a press statement following her reception by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Mrs. Georgieva said that she had an “extensive and rich discussion” with the President of the Republic, expressing her thanks to Algeria for hosting a “symposium of utmost importance” on “connecting Europe to Africa via North Africa.”

At the same time, she expressed “the full support of the International Monetary Fund for Algeria’s ongoing efforts to diversify its economy,” highlighting Algeria’s efforts, which in this regard are based on “creating job opportunities for young people, supporting entrepreneurship and emerging institutions, and investing in the human element, which represents the future of the country.”

At the conclusion of her statement, she expressed her “dazzle at the beauty and dynamism of Algeria,” on her first visit to this country.
