The Director General of National Security is on a working visit to Italy – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

During the period from January 28 to 31, 2026, the Director General of National Security, Ali Badawi, conducted a working visit to the Italian capital, Rome, at the head of a high-level delegation that included senior officials from the General Directorate of National Security.

During this visit, the Director General of National Security met with his Italian counterpart, Police Director Vittorio Pisani (Vittorio Pisani), where the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand areas of consultation and coordination, especially in the fields of training and combating cross-border organized crime in its various forms, in a way that serves common interests and rises to the level of distinguished relations that unite the two countries, in the presence of the representative of the Ambassador of Algeria to Italy.

The Algerian police delegation also made a series of field visits to a number of specialized police departments and facilities, starting with the Italian Police Higher School, where it was briefed on its training facilities and received explanations about the approved training curricula and programs for preparing and qualifying police personnel.

The program continued with a visit to the Operations Center of the Rome Police, charged with following up and coordinating security operations, before concluding with visits to the Central Directorate of Scientific Police and Cybersecurity, the Central Directorate of Migration and the Border Police.

In a related context, the Algerian police delegation participated in the high-level closing symposium for the second edition of the Global Training Center program (ITEPA2), organized by the Central Immigration Directorate of the Italian Police, in coordination with the Egyptian Police Academy.

The symposium covered the topic “Border police, combating illegal immigration, and detecting forgery of documents”In the presence of experts from the European Union Commission and its agencies, along with representatives of international organizations participating in the project, as well as heads of police services in the African countries benefiting from this program.
