The death toll from the military plane crash in Boufarik has risen

The Ministry of National Defense revealed that the death toll from the BE-1900 military plane crash, which crashed directly after take-off from the runway of Boufarik Air Base in the First Military Region, was increased, as two more members of the plane’s crew were martyred, bringing the number of martyrs to 4.

Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, renewed his condolences on the high death toll and the death of two other soldiers as a result of the crash of a military transport plane last Thursday in Boufark, bringing the number of martyrs in this accident to 4.

The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement issued on Saturday, “Following the crash of a military transport plane of the type “BE 1900” on the runway of Boufarik Air Base in the First Military Region on Thursday, March 5, 2026, which resulted in the martyrdom of two (02) members of its crew, yesterday, Friday, March 06, 2026, two (02) more members of the plane’s crew joined the senior comrade, bringing the number of martyrs in this painful accident to four (04) members.”

The same statement added, “In the face of this great tragedy, Lieutenant General Saïd Changriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, on his own behalf and in the name of all the frameworks and members of the People’s National Army, reiterates his deepest condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy to the families of the martyrs, praying to the Almighty God to cover them with His vast mercy, to dwell them in His spacious paradise, and to inspire their families and loved ones with patience and solace.
