The death toll from the crash of a military transport plane in Boufarik – New Algeria has risen

The death toll from the crash of a BE-1900 military plane on the runway of Boufarik Air Base in the First Military Region has risen to 4, as announced on Saturday by the Ministry of National Defense.

According to the Ministry’s statement, “following the crash of a BE-1900 military transport plane on the runway of Boufarik Air Base in the First Military Region, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, which resulted in the martyrdom of two (02) members of its crew, yesterday, Friday, March 06, 2026, two (02) more members of the plane’s crew joined the senior comrade, bringing the number of martyrs in this painful accident to four (04) members.”

The Ministry added, “In the face of this great tragedy, Lieutenant General Saïd Changriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, on his own behalf and in the name of all the personnel and personnel of the People’s National Army, reiterates his deepest condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy to the families of the martyrs, praying to the Almighty God to cover them with His vast mercy, to dwell them in His spacious paradise, and to inspire their families and relatives with patience and peace.”
