The Council of Ministers approves increases for retirees – New Algeria

Today, Sunday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, while chairing a Cabinet meeting, approved increases in retirees’ pensions by 10 percent for those whose income is less than or equal to 20,000 Algerian dinars, and 5 percent for those whose income exceeds this ceiling. The Council of Ministers explained that these increases are in addition to the financial impact of previous increases in the guaranteed national minimum wage, which contributes to improving the purchasing power of retirees.

The President also instructed the Ministers of Interior and Agriculture on the need to establish effective mechanisms for storing agricultural products, with the aim of protecting farmers from losses and maintaining price stability in the national market.

After presenting the agenda and a summary of the recent Cabinet decisions, then the Prime Minister presented the government activity for the last two weeks, and regarding a presentation on the creation of two new administrative provinces, the Council of Ministers approved the creation of two administrative provinces, relating to both Maghnia and Alma. Regarding the national strategy for developing e-commerce, the President of the Republic also stressed that e-commerce is a major challenge, requiring everyone’s participation to achieve this economic goal, using the necessary means, especially ensuring digital security, approving more facilities, and encouraging trade in this direction. He highlighted that commercial transparency is the first goal and the true fruit of digitization and trade.
