A large part of the “Sayyid Muhammad Sharif Al-Zahar” mosque, located in the Kasbah in Algiers, collapsed on Monday.

According to what was reported by the “Info Traffic Algérie – ITA” page on Facebook, the collapse affected a significant part of the mosque, without any information recorded about human casualties so far.

The “Sayyid Muhammad al-Sharif al-Zahar” mosque is considered one of the oldest mosques in the capital, as its construction dates back to the year 1541 AD, and it is classified among the prominent religious and historical monuments in the ancient Kasbah.
