The Metropolitan Police Department contributed all financial and human resources to the success of securing the New Year’s Eve 2026 celebration, according to a statement by the Department.
The statement explained, today, Thursday, that according to a security plan across the entire specialized sector, the operational units of Algiers State Security were recruited day and night through its various security formations, such as the foot and mounted judicial police teams, to ensure the security of people, protect property, and fight crime in all its forms, especially at the level of neighborhood spaces, recreational facilities, and public squares that witnessed a large influx of citizens.
In addition to the public security teams that ensure the smooth flow of traffic and facilitate the movement of citizens.
The Algiers Police also placed at the disposal of citizens the green numbers of the General Directorate of National Security, 15.48 and 17, and the Hello Police application for reporting or inquiries, to succeed in securing the process of New Year’s celebrations and ensuring their good conduct.
