The army eliminates 4 terrorists in an ambush in Tebessa and recovers weapons and ammunition – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Ministry of National Defense announced, on Friday, the elimination of four terrorists in an ambush carried out by joint detachments of the People’s National Army in the territory of the military sector of Tebessa, in the Fifth Military Region, with the recovery of weapons and ammunition.

The Ministry explained, in a statement, that the operation was carried out on the night of Thursday, March 12, 2026, within the framework of the instructions of the Supreme Command aimed at enhancing security and tranquility, especially during the month of Ramadan, and based on information provided by the army security services.

The operation resulted in the recovery of four Kalashnikov machine pistols, in addition to a significant amount of ammunition and other items.

The statement indicated that this operation comes as an extension of a previous operation carried out on March 1, 2026 in the Zedine Forest in the Ain Defla military sector in the First Military Region, which then resulted in the elimination of two terrorists and the recovery of two Kalashnikov machine guns and a quantity of ammunition.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed that these results reflect the vigilance of the People’s National Army units and their determination to continue tracking down the remnants of terrorist groups and eliminating them once and for all.
