The Arab Parliamentary Union denounces statements appreciating the occupation’s dominance over the Middle East – New Algeria

The Union stressed that such absurd statements represent a blatant violation of diplomatic norms and a blatant bias towards aggression and occupation, in addition to being a blatant violation of international law and United Nations resolutions that confirm the illegality of the Zionist occupation of Palestinian and Arab lands and prevent the seizure of lands by force, pointing out that these statements constitute a serious violation of the principle of respect for the sovereignty of states and the stability of the region, and constitute a direct violation of the rights and dignity of the Arab peoples.

The Arab Parliamentary Union stated that these irresponsible statements contradict the position announced by the President of the United States, rejecting the annexation of the West Bank, and also contradict the international obligations of the United States as a permanent member of the Security Council.

The Union stressed that the dominance of force and the legitimization of occupation cannot establish peace or security in the region, but rather increase tension and deepen hostility and the logic of instability.

The Arab Parliamentary Union called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in protecting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, most notably the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The Arab Parliamentary Union concluded its statement by emphasizing that the Arab nation adheres to its national constants and historical rights, and will not accept any infringement on its sovereignty or falsification of the facts of history and geography.
