The Algerian national team advanced six places in the FIFA rankings, according to the new classification, issued yesterday evening, Monday.
The Algerian national team rose to 28th place New FIFA classificationwith a score of 1560.91 points, after occupying 34th place in the classification last December, with 1517.68 points.
On the African level, the national team is ranked after Morocco (8th globally), Senegal (12th) and Nigeria (26th).
The Algerian national team’s progress in the world ranking comes after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which took place in Morocco, from December 21 to January 18, in which the Senegal national team won the title after winning the final match over the host country’s national team with a score of 1-0.
In the “Cannes 2025” finals, the Algerian national team achieved four consecutive victories. This was against the teams of Sudan (3-0), Burkina Faso (1-0), and Equatorial Guinea (3-1), then it beat the Democratic Republic of Congo (1-0 after extra time) in the quarter-finals, before being eliminated from the competition by the Nigeria team.
