The Algerian Consulate in London organizes a group breakfast for the national community in the United Kingdom – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Consulate General of Algeria in London organized a group iftar for members of the Algerian community residing in the United Kingdom, within the framework of the policy of proximity and enhancing communication with members of the national community abroad.

The breakfast witnessed a wide attendance of various groups of the community, including officials of the associational movement, civil society activists, academics, scientific and professional competencies, in addition to students, youth, businessmen, and representatives of Algerian schools in the United Kingdom. The invitations also included some vulnerable groups among the community, in a humanitarian gesture that reflects the spirit of solidarity symbolized by the month of Ramadan.

The evening began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an in the voice of Sheikh and reciter Walid Mahsas, which gave the occasion a spiritual atmosphere full of tranquility and reverence, coinciding with the raising of the Maghrib call to prayer and the announcement of the time for Iftar.

In his speech on the occasion, Consul General Abdel Majeed Amini stressed that this group breakfast falls within the ongoing efforts to strengthen bridges of communication and consolidate bonds of harmony and solidarity among members of the community, stressing the consulate’s keenness to improve the quality of services provided to them and enhance the policy of proximity and response to their concerns.

The evening was also marked by the organization of a competition to memorize and recite the Holy Qur’an for children, where the participants were honored, including a student who fasted during the month of Ramadan for the first time, in a symbolic initiative aimed at consolidating religious and cultural values ​​in the rising generations.

Iftar was an opportunity to enhance acquaintance among members of the community and evoke the authentic atmosphere of Ramadan, as a group of traditional dishes and Algerian sweets were served that reflected the richness of the cultural heritage, which gave the evening a warm family character that brought to mind the atmosphere of Ramadan in Algeria.
