The Algerian Airways Charging Company expects a “perceived” increase in its activity during the current year 2025, according to the company official, confirming its “complete” readiness to accompany economic customers and adapt to their requirements for export abroad, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdul Majeed Taboun related to the promotion of exports.
The commercial director of the Algerian Airlines for shipping, Noureddine Rabeh bin Abbas, explained that the company is a growth in the air freight activity of commodities ranging between 8 and 12 percent during 2025 compared to the past year, which is compatible with the expectations of the International Air Transport Federation “IATA” for the region.
This growth will come with an increase in demand by Algerian exporters and harnessing additional capabilities to respond to it, according to the official, who mentioned the importance of this type of transport, which is compatible with the peculiarities of many goods that require export quickly and safely, similar to pharmaceutical products, vegetables and fruits.
In the year 2024, the company shipped about 29 thousand tons of commodities, i.e. a growth rate of 32 percent compared to 2023, according to the outcome presented by Mr. Rabeh bin Abbas.
Industrial products, spare parts, electronic devices, agricultural and food products formed the most important commodities that were exported on the Algerian Air Airlines for shipping during the last year.
These goods were directed to many countries of the five continents, including Belgium, Italy, Spain, Russia, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Canada, according to the official, who confirmed that the company is working to enhance its presence in the “promising” African market, especially in the Senegalese and Mauritanian markets.
In this regard, Mr. Rabeh bin Abbas expressed the company’s readiness to meet the increasing demands of economic customers according to the market developments on the air freight of the goods and adapt to them, and this is by providing favorable conditions and the necessary capabilities that allow them to export their goods comfortably, whether by renting or buying shipping aircraft, indicating the possibility of opening new lines on request.
Regarding the business plan for 2025, the company seeks to expand its capabilities in a manner that is compatible with the increase in demand, as the plane will continue to use it by the parent company (Algerian Airlines) of the type “Boeing 737-800 BCF”, with a load estimated at 19 tons, which was recently supported by another plane rented from the parent company as well, of the type “Boeing 737-700” with a load of 16 tons, with the possibility of renting aircraft Additional shipping to meet the increasing demand.
On the other hand, the company seeks to obtain a license for the air exploitation as a company approved in the field of air charging for commodity (Certificate Air Operator-AC), by the National Civil Aviation Agency, which will constitute a “great strategic shift” for the company, which gives it complete independence in running its capabilities in terms of the exploitation of aircraft, and opening new horizons to expand the network and air conditioning with the fleet with Market needs, the official adds.
It is noteworthy that the special fund to upgrade exports to accompany the exporters provides 50 percent support from the costs of air transport.
On January 6, the “pre -car” was initiated with subsidized shipping expenses, where the customer only pays 50 percent of the cost of transportation, instead of paying them complete and waiting for compensation later, and this is within the framework of the new facilities directed to encourage exports outside fuel, and increase their competitiveness in foreign markets.
