The Algerian Red Crescent has written a broad solidarity program that includes activities aimed at consolidating the values of social solidarity across the entire national territory, in anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Foundation’s statement explained that this program includes, in particular, “the distribution of more than 200,000 food parcels, in coordination with local authorities throughout the country, after families in need were monitored through the digital platform (beneficiary) of the Algerian Red Crescent.”
The Algerian Red Crescent confirmed that it is keen for all food parcels to reach those entitled to them before the beginning of the month of Ramadan, pointing out that the state committees will continue to receive and distribute aid throughout the holy month.
By the way, “17 giant tents will be set up across several states of the country, with a daily capacity of between 800 and 1,200 fasting people in each tent,” and “meals will be distributed inside the international airports in Algiers, Oran and Constantine, in addition to organizing a daily iftar at the Kharouba station in Algiers,” in addition to other activities, including “supporting and accompanying more than 47 Quranic schools and distributing more than 50,000 Eid clothes for the benefit of orphans, with the organization of 20,000 mass circumcisions.”
In the same context, the Algerian Red Crescent Medical Committee, through medical convoys, will continue its activity throughout the month of Ramadan, especially by organizing awareness-raising campaigns about diabetes and diet.
The statement concluded by calling on philanthropists and institutions to support this solidarity process across all states, noting that this program will be implemented with the participation of more than 12,000 volunteers across various state committees.
