Algeria-Britain: Signing a memorandum of understanding in the field of electronic fingerprint examination – New Algeria

The General Directorate of National Security signed a memorandum of understanding with Ministry of Internal Affairs The British Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to strengthen the operational partnership and develop the capabilities of Algerian police officers and technicians in the field of advanced analysis of electronic fingerprints, according to what was stated today, Saturday, in a statement by the General Directorate of National Security.
The same source explained that this memorandum was signed on the occasion of a working visit recently undertaken by the Director General of National Security. Ali Badawito the United Kingdom at the head of a police delegation that includes personnel from the General Directorate of National Security, which falls within the framework of “strengthening bilateral cooperation mechanisms in the police field.”

The memorandum was signed by the Director-General of National Security and the British Minister of State and Minister of Border Security and Asylum. Alex Norrisin the presence of the Algerian Ambassador to Britain, Noureddine Yazid, according to which “the operational partnership will be strengthened and the capabilities of the Algerian police personnel and technicians will be developed in the field of advanced analysis for examining electronic fingerprints and the exchange of experiences and knowledge in recognition and identity verification techniques in a manner consistent with current challenges and the development of modern technologies in this field.”

The Director General of National Security and his accompanying delegation visited the National Crime Agency (NCA) in London, where they were briefed on “the experience of… UK in combating crime, in addition to the digital systems adopted by the agency in analyzing criminal data and exchanging information,” reviewing “the Algerian police’s operational approach in combating all forms of crime, especially transnational organized crime.”

The working visit by the Director General of National Security was “an opportunity to strengthen the strong ties between the police of the two countries and expand the frameworks of joint cooperation between the two sides in areas related to…Fighting crime organization and exchange of operational experiences,” according to the same statement.
