The Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youssef Belmehdi, revealed that his interests are working to raise the wages of imams and Quran teachers, in his answer to questions from deputies today, Thursday.
During a public session, the minister said, “We raised the concern through a special project to the competent authorities to improve the salary of the imam and the person in charge of religious affairs..and we are waiting.”
Belmahdi continued, “I do not disagree with you. We are discussing with the guardianship authorities solutions to provide housing for the imams. This is at the core of the government’s work and the pledges of the President of the Republic.”
