The Minister of Mujahideen and People of Rights, Abdelmalek Tashrift, today, Monday, at the Algiers Mosque, accompanied by the Dean of the Mosque of Algiers, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Mamoun Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani, supervised the opening of the activities of a scientific symposium on the occasion of the sixty-fourth anniversary of Victory Day, March 19, 1962, under the slogan: “Immortal glories and renewed victories.”
The symposium, which was organized by the National Mujahid Museum in coordination with the Museum of Islamic Civilization at the Algiers Mosque, witnessed the presence of national and historical figures, mujahideen, professors and researchers, students, intellectuals and media professionals.
During his speech, Minister Tachrift stressed that celebrating Victory Day “is not just a reminder of the past, but rather a decisive historical moment from which we derive the determination to continue the development movement and promote the comprehensive renaissance,” stressing that Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “continues to consolidate the pillars of its well-known victories in various fields, achieving a qualitative breakthrough that has strengthened the state’s prestige and placed the interest of the citizen above all else.”
The minister added that the national gains “represent the will of a nation and a homeland protected by solid constitutional institutions, led by the People’s National Army, which constitutes the highest guarantee for the sustainability of victories and the protection of national sovereignty.”
For his part, the Dean of the Algiers Mosque, Sheikh Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani, stressed the importance of preserving national memory and drawing inspiration from the lessons of the revolution, stressing that the historical glories of Algerians “must be transformed into a continuous cultural educational material, as an extension of the message of the martyrs and instilling love for the homeland and serving the public interest.”
The symposium witnessed the showing of a documentary about the anniversary, followed by the Mujahid Sherif Ouchia presenting his testimony about the events of the Liberation Revolution, before specialized professors presented their interventions on the importance of this historical milestone, which embodied the victories of the Algerian people and the skill of the Algerian negotiator in the Evian negotiations.
