Hamas agrees to Trump’s proposal on Gaza

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), after completing its discussions and consultations with the Palestinian factions, announced its approval of the plan of US President Donald Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip, hand over the hostages and the bodies of the Israelis and foreigners held by the movement, in addition to handing over the Gaza Strip administration to the independent Palestinian body (technocrat).

The Hamas movement came after receiving the American proposal through mediation countries, Qatar and Egypt, where it was discussed in meetings held in the Qatari capital, Doha, and through contacts with the leaders of the Palestinian factions present abroad, whether in Gaza or in other countries and capitals.

The approval announced by the movement crowned after a series of sessions held by the Palestinian factions, and meetings with mediation countries, during which Qatari officials met with Hamas leaders and a number of other Palestinian factions.

In an official statement, Hamas confirmed that it “declares its approval to release all prisoners of the occupation, and hand over the bodies according to the form of exchange mentioned in the proposal of President Trump, while providing the field conditions necessary for the exchange process.” The movement added that it is “ready to enter immediately, through brokers, in negotiations to discuss the details of the implementation of this agreement.”

Hamas also renewed its approval to hand over the Gaza Strip administration to an independent Palestinian body (technocrat), “based on the Palestinian national consensus and based on Arab and Islamic support.”

The statement pointed out that “what was stated in the proposal of President Trump on other issues related to the future of the Gaza Strip and the authentic rights of the Palestinian people is linked to a comprehensive national position based on relevant international laws and decisions, and will be discussed through a comprehensive Palestinian national framework that will be part of it and will contribute in it all responsibility.”

The movement stressed that its decision came “in order to stop the aggression and the war of extermination that our steadfast people in the Gaza Strip are exposed, and based on national responsibility, and in order to ensure the principles of our people, their rights and supreme interests.”

She added that she conducted “in -depth consultations in its leadership institutions, wide consultations with Palestinian forces and factions, and consultations with the brokers and friends, to reach a responsible position in dealing with the plan of US President Donald Trump.”

Hamas added that after an extensive study, “she took its decision and handed over to the brokers of the brokers its official response,” noting that it appreciated the “Arab, Islamic and international efforts, and the efforts of US President Donald Trump, calling for the stopping of the war on the Gaza Strip, the exchange of prisoners, the entry of humanitarian aid immediately, and the refusal to occupy the sector and refuse to displace the Palestinian people from it.”

Abu Marzouq: We agreed to the Egyptian perception and Trump’s plan needs to negotiate

In a related context, Hamas leader Musa Abu Marzouq told Al -Jazeera that the movement agreed to a regional and international visualization by Egypt that includes answers to peace and the future, stressing that the weapon will be delivered to the upcoming Palestinian state, and that it will be in the hand of those who will rule Gaza.

Abu Marzouq explained that Hamas agreed to the main headlines of the plan of US President Donald Trump as a general principle, but its implementation requires negotiations, noting that the movement dealt positively with the items that concern it in the plan, while refusing to classify it as a terrorist organization.

He stressed that the priority is currently the cessation of war and massacres, and that all the details related to the power of peacekeeping need understandings. He added that handing over the prisoners and bodies within 72 hours is unrealistic in the current circumstances, and that the movement will enter into negotiations that include all the issues related to them and their weapons.

The movement’s leader pointed to a national consensus to hand over the Gaza administration to independently under the reference of the Palestinian Authority, pointing out that the future of the Palestinian people is settling nationally and not by Hamas’s decision alone, and calling on the United States to look positively to this future.
