The player from the city of Murcia became the youngest tennis player to win a full Grand Slam tournament at the age of 22 years and 272 days, compared to 22 years and 363 days for the American.
The successor to the legend Rafael Nadal succeeded in winning two titles in the French Open “Roland Garros”, two titles in the US Open, and two titles in Wimbledon.
Carlos leads the world rankings for players in the singles category, with 12,050 points, ahead of Italian Jannik Sinner (11,500) and German Alexander Zverev (5,105).
For his part, Serbian legend Novak Djokovic is ranked fourth with 4,780 points.
Djokovic continues to perform at impressive levels despite his advanced age (38 years and 9 months), as he defeated rising Italian star Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
“Nolly” holds the record for the number of Australian Championships (10) and Grand Slam Championships (24).
Djokovic did not rule out the possibility of achieving the 25th title, as he said after losing the final to Alkarrath: “I always believe in that.”
Djokovic won his last Grand Slam title in 2023, during the US Open.
