Algeria and Somalia are looking to develop cooperation in agriculture and marine fishing – Algerian dialogue

The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Maritime Fishing, Youssef Sharafa, spoke on Friday, with the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Somalia Federal Republic, Mahmoud Ahmed Adam, who is visiting Algeria to participate in the activities of the fourth edition of the African Betical Trade Exhibition.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Agriculture, the meeting took place in the presence of the Somalia Ambassador to Algeria, Youssef Ahmed Hassan, where the two parties praised the quality of bilateral relations, and confirmed their common will to upgrade it towards a practical partnership that contributes to enhancing economic integration and sustainable development on the continent.

The meeting also constituted an opportunity to exchange visions on ways to support cooperation in several areas, most notably livestock, marine fishing and agricultural inputs.

The two ministers also discussed the possibility of expanding the horizons of cooperation to include the areas of training and investment in the agricultural sector, in addition to benefiting from Algeria’s experience in these fields to serve the interests of the two countries.
