To succeed Sufyan Gilali … a new generation begins to prepare for its exceptional conference – new Algeria

The leadership of the “New Generation” party has begun preparing to hold the extraordinary conference to elect a new leader through the preparatory committee, during the month of November 2025, to succeed the party leader, Gilali Sufyan The resigned, as the same leadership revealed the conditions for running for the position of party leader.

A statement by the National Council of the party, today, Sunday, that he took: “Knowing that the party’s president’s desire to end his covenant before the specified period,” noting that at the proposal of the party’s president, the preparatory committee for the conference was approved.

The statement indicated that the exceptional conference dedicated to the election of a new leader is planned during the month of November 2025, explaining the conditions for candidacy for the success of Gilali Sufyan, namely: continuity in paying annual contributions, obtaining the fifth degree of party training, and given the limited number of militants who have this degree (only 7 members).

According to the statement, he decided National CouncilExpanding the process in an exceptional way to include those with the fourth degree (20 members), thereby increasing the number of potential candidates to more than twenty.

The candidates will be called to display and publish their programs, and intervene through video clips. The elections of the new party leader will be held during the conference, by the militants, according to the mechanisms stipulated in the statute.

Sufyan Gilali had announced, two weeks ago, that he left the party’s presidency, after more than 14 years of leadership, stressing that he had taken this decision to “gave way to the emergence of a new leadership that is responsible for developing the party and continues the path of the party’s political struggle.”

He said in a message that “leaving the party’s presidency does not mean leaving the struggle,” calling on the party’s militants and all citizens to “continue to work for Algeria.”
