The Minister of Health, Mohamed Siddiq Ait Masoudan, stressed on Monday the necessity of building a unified and multi -sectors front, working to embody a common vision towards a healthy and health school.
Ait Masoudan, in a speech during the opening of the first edition of the National School Health Day, in the presence of the Minister of National Education, Mohamed Saghir Saadawi, noted the great care that the state gives to the health of the emerging generations, as the “basic pillar of comprehensive and sustainable development”.
The minister pointed out that the revival of the National School Health Day comes as a culmination of a pre -national program, aimed at assessing the activities registered in the framework of the National School Health Program and promoting the health of school students and their well -being, while highlighting the major bets facing school health and their direct impact on educational paths and educational achievement.
In this context, he reviewed the most important thing in the field of school health care, such as “providing 2093 units detection and follow -up through various states of the country, filling 7176 health frameworks from two general doctors, dentists, nurses, psychiatrists, and chronologists”, in addition to this “health coverage and vaccination of 93 percent during the last year.”
By the way, the Minister of Health called on all actors to make this day “a starting point for coordinated, sustainable and effective work, so that school health is a basic lever for the success of the educational system and achieving national development goals.”
For his part, the Minister of National Education pointed out that the role of the school goes beyond teaching knowledge, but rather “a space to prepare physical, psychologically, mentally and intellectually generations,” adding that his sector believes that “health is not a secondary or accidental affair, but rather an integral part of the educational process, and a necessary condition for its success.”
Based on this, the national education sector is working to achieve a number of major goals, which are “consolidating a healthy culture in the school community, unifying efforts between the sectors, foremost of which is education and health, to ensure effective and permanent coordination.”
In addition, the sector seeks to “enhance early detection and prevention, especially from the danger of + the deadly trio + represented by screens and digital content, mental effects and drugs”, as indicated by Mr. Saadawi, recalling the vision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdul Majeed Taboun, who made health and education a maximum national priority, by emphasizing that the construction of the new Algeria passes through the formation of a healthy person, who is able to know and know.
In this direction, the Minister of National Education called for following this national day with a periodic evaluation and accurate measurement indicators of the extent of the positive impact on the health of students and their academic achievement.
Saadawi concluded to emphasize the aspiration of his sector to “convert school health into a community culture and a permanent national program and integrate efforts with public health strategies, including prevention of diseases, oral and dental health, psychological and social support”
