Outcomes of the Council of Ministers Meeting – Algerian Dialogue

Following the opening of the Council of Ministers meeting by the President of the Republic, then listening to the agenda and the Prime Minister’s presentation of the government’s activity during the last two weeks, the President gave the following orders and directives:

1- About the progress report on the progress of the digitization process:

– After the High Prefecture for Digitization presented its periodic report, which recorded tangible progress regarding the rates of connectivity between various public bodies and administrations, with the commencement of the completion of a national data center, the Council of Ministers approved a deal through direct negotiation between the High Prefecture for Digitization and the Chinese company Huawei due to its urgent nature.

2- On the extent of follow-up on the implementation of complementary development programs in the states of Khenchela, Tissemsilt, Djelfa and Tindouf:

The President of the Republic stressed the necessity of strengthening national cohesion as it is at the core of his priorities through a strategy based on development balance that compensates for the previously recorded shortfall in some regions at the expense of others.

The President of the Republic ordered that the utmost importance be given to completing the development programs for these states, which were deprived of them for many decades in previous stages that the country went through.

Regarding the state of Djelfa, the President of the Republic stressed the interest in urban development and adapting the state capital to urban expansion of a modern nature.

The President of the Republic appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Health in equipping the health structures of the state of Tindouf, as he committed to in his last visit to the state, which will allow the provision and delivery of the best health services to the citizen.

Mr. President ordered to raise the Tissemsilt state’s share of rural housing from 3,000 housing units to 15,000 units.

3- On the extent of implementation of the electricity delivery program for agricultural investments, industrial zones and activity areas:

The President of the Republic appreciated the efforts made and continues to be made by Sonelgaz Company to achieve developmental integration and overcome the obstacles that were disturbing the lives of citizens.

The President instructed the Minister of Energy to convey his personal congratulations and thanks, as well as the Council of Ministers’ appreciation to the workers, managers and executives of the Sonelgaz company, which follows in the footsteps of Sonatrach in providing investment and services, strengthening the national economy.

The President of the Republic stressed the need for further progress in delivering electricity to industrial and activity areas, explaining that it is considered one of the infrastructures that support the national economy and a driver of development that guarantees national food and industrial security.

Mr. President affirmed the state’s determination to continue development work and develop it as it is the core of its interests because of its direct positive impact on the lives of citizens, and it will spare no effort to achieve this basic goal.

4- On the status of preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games:

Mr. President was keen to reassure the national elite in all specializations and that the state is fully prepared to provide all the capabilities, as it had previously placed in the hands of the national elite, to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games, including sponsoring internships outside the country.

The President of the Republic emphasized that taking care of our national elite does not differentiate between the elite participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which is responsible for raising the national flag in international sporting forums.

5- Regarding the interim report on the General Census of Agriculture:

Mr. President directed the government to give all importance to the general census in the agricultural sector, as it is an essential mechanism for knowing national capabilities and identifying needs to make the right decisions based on accurate scientific data.

Before the close of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, gave a comprehensive presentation on international developments, especially the developments taking place in the Palestinian issue at the level of the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly, where Mr. President appreciated the honorable performance of the Algerian diplomatic mission, led by the Permanent Representative of Algeria to United Nations, Ambassador Ammar Ben Jama.

Finally, the President of the Republic instructed the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion to convey his thanks to the representatives of merchants and all partners, actors and economic dealers for their efforts and commitments in achieving market stability.
