Strong winds will continue until Sunday

Strong winds will continue to blow in a number of states across the country until Sunday morning, according to a special bulletin from the National Bureau of Meteorology on Friday.

This bulletin, which is classified as an “orange” alert level, concerns the states of Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Chlef, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Mascara, Relizane, Ain Defla, Naama and Bayadh. The bulletin’s validity extends from Friday at 18:00 until Saturday at 15:00.

The same source indicated that these winds will be westerly at a speed ranging between 60 and 70 km/h, and may sometimes reach or exceed 90/80 km/h in the form of gusts.

These winds are also expected to include the states of Tipaza, Blida, Medea, Algiers, Boumerdes, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Laghouat, Djelfa and M’sila, from tomorrow, Saturday, at 01:00 until 21:00, so that these winds are expected to be from westerly to northwesterly at a speed of 70/60 km/h, and their speed may sometimes reach or exceed 100/90 km/h in the form of Gusts, with flying sand and low visibility on the high plateaus.

The states of Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Khenchela and Tebessa will witness strong winds starting from Saturday at 06:00 until Sunday at 06:00, and they will be from westerly to northwesterly at a speed of 60/80 km/h, and may reach or exceed Sometimes 110/100 km/h in the form of gusts, especially in coastal areas.

According to the same bulletin, the states of Ghardaia, Ouled Jalal, El Mughir, Touqrt, El Oued and Biskra, in addition to northern Ouargla, will witness wind gusts starting tomorrow, Saturday, from 09:00 until 21:00, and they will be westerly to northwesterly at a speed of 60/70 km/h, and may sometimes reach or exceed 80 km/h in the form of gusts, with heavy sand blowing and low visibility.
