Everything the Prime Minister said about the technical amendment to the Constitution – New Algeria

Prime Minister Seifi Gharib confirmed that the draft technical amendment to the constitution falls within the framework of completing institutional building and contributes to enhancing political stability and supporting the path of development. He also stressed that the success of any reforms depends on the involvement of all actors, including institutions, parties, civil society and the media.

During his supervision of a symposium on the draft technical amendment to the constitution and the organic law related to the electoral system, the minister mentioned the state’s work to consolidate the rule of law on solid foundations and develop the legal system continuously and successfully.

Saifi Gharib explained that the purpose of the purely technical amendment to the constitution is to enhance the precise harmony between the constitutional texts and the legislative space without compromising the essence of national constants or existing constitutional principles.

The Prime Minister stressed that the 2020 Constitution initiated by the President of the Republic is a historic step, a gain for the nation, and a major tributary to strengthening the democratic path.

He pointed out that the reforms to the 2020 Constitution consolidated the rule of law and the strength of state institutions, included freedoms and rights, and strengthened political mobility and the role of civil society.

He also pointed out that it is a station that embodies the state’s firm will to continue strengthening the democratic path, consolidating the rule of law on solid foundations and developing the legal system on an ongoing basis in a way that responds to the aspirations of citizens.
