According to a post on her official page on the “Facebook“The embassy explained that as of January 21, 2026, some Algerian applicants eligible for a business or tourism visa may be required to pay a refundable bond of up to $15,000 before the document is issued.

In this regard, the same departments stressed the necessity of not paying any financial bond before the interview date, stressing that prepayment does not in any way guarantee obtaining a visa.

However, she indicated that applicants who are required to pay the bond will be notified immediately after the interview by a consular officer, who will provide them with an official and direct link to the payment website (pay.gov), and the necessary instructions to complete the process.
