The Minister of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Ataf, received today, Sunday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Somalia Federal Republic, Abdel Salam Abdi Ali, who is on an official visit to Algeria.
The two ministers held extensive talks with the participation of members of the delegations of the two countries.
The meeting also constituted an opportunity to find out the qualitative runs made by the sisterly state of Somalia on the path of rebuilding strong and universal national institutions. And renewing Algeria’s commitment to support the efforts of the Somali leadership aimed at consolidating the foundations of security, stability and development. Whether on the bilateral level or from the dual site of Algeria in the UN Security Council and the African Peace and Security Council.
The two parties also agreed to strengthen the institutional structure of cooperation between the two countries. And enrich the legal framework for their inter -relations. This is what was embodied through the signing of the two ministers on three legal texts. It aims to establish a joint government committee and create a mechanism for political consultations. As well as encouraging cooperation in the field of training diplomats.
The talks also allowed to confirm the two parties’ commitment to the highest levels of coordination during their current covenant of the UN Security Council. This is to serve Arab issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, and they pushed the priorities of the African continent in various fields. As well as support for development and stability at the regional levels in the Horn of Africa and the desert coast.
