Finance Law 2026: Consumer Protection Associations appreciate the directives of President Tabun – New Algeria

During his presidency yesterday, Sunday, a meeting of the Council of Ministers during which the draft finance law was approved for the year 2026, the President of the Republic stressed in his directives that “the Finance Law does not include any increases that exhaust the purchasing power of the citizen”, stressing the need to work on a non -compressive tax container, more effectively in terms of collection, to fight evasion and negative behaviors in the field of Tax.

In this context, Mustafa Zabdi, President of the Algerian Society for Consumer Protection and its surroundings, said that the directives of the President of the Republic reflect the methodology currently followed by “within the framework of protecting the purchasing power of the consumer, which is what the association touched through previous decisions for the President of the Republic”, highlighting the importance of instructions related to the Finance Law 2026, which included not adding new fees or taxes that affect Consumer directly.

The spokesman added that such decisions would reassure the citizen regarding the stability of his purchasing power, while “seeking to improve it more and more, and this is what we hope to actually be embodied in the Finance Law for the next year.”

In turn, Hassan Manawar, President of the “Al -Aman” Association for the Protection of the Consumer, highlighted the commitment of the public authorities, headed by the President of the Republic, to take decisions related to the protection of the consumer, to preserve its health, organize the market, and control the basic material market, and “in particular related to preserving the purchasing power by not adding new taxes or raising them, especially those that affect the basic materials.”

After referring to the role played by promoting the purchasing power of citizens in the economy as a whole, Menawar explained that the consumer protection is one of the foundations for strengthening the economy, and protecting the economy is also linked to the protection of economic dealers, appreciating in the context the instructions of the President of the Republic during the cabinet meeting.

For his part, Zaki Hariz, President of the National Federation for Consumer Protection, praised the permanent president of the republic to raise different Burdens The citizen, especially by not including new fees or taxes, and this is a protection and enhancement of his purchasing power, despite the global economic context that is characterized by inflation and price increase, and has been going on for years.
