National Assembly: Agriculture projects to enhance food security and reduce imports – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Sunday, before the Agriculture Committee of the National Assembly, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Yassine Mahdi Walid, presented the most important sectoral projects programmed to enhance food security and reduce dependency on imports.
The Minister pointed out the adoption of national resources, and accompanying farmers with insurance and support, while confronting the challenges of climate change and drought. He also revealed projects to develop seeds and fruits, establish laboratories for plant analysis and the veterinary sector, and produce poultry breeders locally to reduce imports.
In the field of red meat and livestock, he announced a reduction in the cost of feed, the development of a national platform for tracking the herd, and the preparation of new draft laws to facilitate the management of agricultural property and livestock breeding.
The Minister also touched on developing marine fishing and aquaculture, and launching a digital transformation cell to prepare a national information system to support agricultural decision-making.
