While ranked fifth in the world: the Algerian national team is on the throne of the African basket – the Algerian dialogue

Algerian basketball has achieved a historic achievement, after the national team for 3 category was against 3 “less than 23 years” ranked fifth in the world with 986.354 points, according to the classification of the International Basketball Federation (VIBA), and Algeria topped the continental ranking to become the first African country to reach this center.

This achievement is a precedent in the history of national basketball, as it reflects the great development witnessed by this specialization, and it is a source of pride in the sports movement in Algeria. Globally, Germany tops the ranking with a total of 2,618.774 points, followed by New Zealand with 1,064.671 points, then Mongolia with 1,023,850 points.

This coronation came the day after the organizational success of the stage of the “Youth Association of Nations” competition less than 23 years old, which was hosted by the sports complex in Garmoul, with the participation of five African teams: Egypt, Kenya, Comoros, Boys, in addition to Algeria, the organized country.

The events were characterized by an enthusiastic atmosphere interspersed with urban music, public activation and artistic challenges, which contributed to the spread of 3 x 3 basketball culture and enhancing its popularity in sports and youth.

With this achievement, Algeria confirms its position as an emerging power in African and global basketball, with great ambitions to continue development and win more advanced ranks in the upcoming entitlements.
