Chengriha inspects the detachments participating in the Tebessa operation

On Saturday morning, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, moved to the territory of the military sector of Tebessa in the 5th Military Region, accompanied by the Commander of the 5th Military Region, Major General Nour Eddine Hambali, to inspect the military detachments participating in the specific operation carried out within the framework of the fight against terrorism on March 12 and 13, 2026.

The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement that “Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, moved this morning, Saturday, March 14, 2026, to the territory of the military sector of Tebessa in the Fifth Military Region, accompanied by Major General Nour Eddine Hambali, Commander of the Fifth Military Region, to inspect the military detachments participating in the specific operation carried out within the framework of the fight against terrorism on March 12 and 13, 2026, which resulted in the elimination of… Seven (7) terrorists and seven (7) Kalashnikov machine pistols and a significant amount of ammunition were recovered, in addition to other items.”

The statement added, “The first team addressed the military personnel on the spot, offering them condolences for their colleagues who were martyred on the field of honor during the holy month of Ramadan, praising the spirit of sacrifice they displayed during this operation and their heroic work. He also conveyed to them the greetings and congratulations of Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense.”

After that, “the team issued the first set of directives, urging everyone to make more efforts to preserve the security of the homeland and citizens and to continue combating the remnants of terrorism with all determination, pride and pride in this sacred duty. It also stressed the correctness of the approach adopted in fighting the remnants of terrorist groups in order to eradicate this phenomenon from our country,” according to the same statement.
