Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Interior and Local Communities announced the installation of a central cell at the ministry level, following the recent weather fluctuations, to monitor the remnants of heavy precipitation in a number of central and eastern states of the country.
In a statement, the Ministry of the Interior confirmed that the central cell is concerned with continuous follow-up of the development of the situation, and ensuring rapid handling of the remnants of these fluctuations, in coordination with the various competent bodies and interests. The statement of the Ministry of the Interior indicated that a case of a missing seven-year-old girl was registered in the state of Guelma, and the search for her is continuing, while the civil protection units succeeded in evacuating 27 African parishes in the same state, who were besieged by water as a result of the high level of the valleys. Some material losses and fluctuations in traffic were recorded across a number of roads and tracts in some states.
For his part, the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Urban Development, Ibrahim Murad, confirmed that no human losses were recorded as a result of the high levels of rain water that some states witnessed, until some damages resulting from these weather fluctuations were controlled.
During the session devoted to oral questions in the National People’s Assembly, the minister spoke about recording some damages that were controlled as a result of the high level of rain water in several regions of the country, adding that the states relatively affected by these weather fluctuations are Tipaza and Tebessa.
