Citizens abroad in a fragile situation are called to request a settlement – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on citizens who are abroad in a fragile and illegal situation to approach the Algerian diplomatic and consular representations in their countries of residence in order to submit settlement requests and deposit the files required to benefit from this procedure, provided that they do not commit the acts they are being prosecuted for again.

The statement stated: “In implementation of the decision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to regularize the status of citizens residing abroad in a fragile and illegal situation, and who are the subject of judicial or administrative procedures related to minor acts related to public order or other such incidents, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs knows that those concerned can regularize their status and be able to join the homeland within an organized framework.”

For this purpose, the Ministry calls on those concerned to “approach the Algerian diplomatic and consular representations in their countries of residence in order to submit requests for settlement and deposit the files required to benefit from this procedure, provided that they do not commit the acts for which they are being prosecuted again.”

The Ministry reiterates “the state’s keenness to accompany and protect members of the national community residing abroad and to take care of their concerns, in compliance with the high instructions of the country’s higher authorities.”
